After reading this article from Kotaku and watching the video in it, I was amazed at how well Mgestyk’s gesture-based control system worked. No gloves, reflective tape, or wireless tools were needed to make gestures that could be used to manipulate objects on screen. Just your hands! Now, while I can understand the reactions of the commentors on Kotaku’s site, this does have applications outside of just gaming. I would love to see this implemented in conferences, training exercises, and heads up displays. With the invention of OLED technology, it won’t be long before we have a bedroom similar to Tony Stark’s.
